I'm Tolulope Adesodun, Tolu for short. A self-taught product designer and design engineer in Lagos, working with founders and teams around the world.

The short version

I taught myself design, then taught myself to build what I designed. That is still how I work: one person from the first frame to the live product, so nothing gets lost between design and code.

I've designed enterprise software where the stakes are real. At Prunedge I designed a large part of Keystone Bank's HR platform, which replaced eight systems for 2,000+ staff. I've designed admin tools for a national transit system and a finance app for Nigeria's informal workers.

I also ship. I founded Deckr, an AI study app that 400+ students use, and designed and built it alone. I've built 13+ websites for clients on Webflow, WordPress, Wix and Next.js.

  1. Deckr

    Founder, designer and engineer

    An AI study platform that turns notes, PDFs and photos into flashcards and quizzes. Designed and built solo: brand, product, Next.js front end, Supabase and Paystack.

  2. WILAN Institute

    Designer and developer

    Built their digital presence from scratch when they had no working site: main website, learning platform and landing pages for flagship programmes. The work supports their reach to 1,500+ women across Africa.

  3. Prunedge

    Product designer

    Designed enterprise products for clients, including Keystone Bank's HRMS: permissions, payroll, the employee self-service portal, onboarding, leave and talent management. Took over the design system when the team shrank.

How I work

Understand

Start with the decisions

Before screens, I find out what people are deciding and what goes wrong when they get it wrong. On Keystone that meant learning how weighted KPIs really worked.

Design

System first, then screens

A small design system early lets me move fast in high fidelity and stay consistent, even when the scope grows or the team shrinks.

Build

Build what I design

I take designs into production myself in Next.js, Webflow or WordPress, so the details survive and changes are quick.
